ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
South Carolina ETV, through television, radio and the Internet, enriches lives by educating children, informing and connecting citizens, celebrating our culture and environment, and instilling the joy of lifelong learning.
INTRODUCTION TO THE PROGRAM
Building on our rich educational legacy, we will use diverse media to enhance the quality of life across generations. • All schools and teachers have educational resources needed for students to pursue their dreams because ETV’s preeminent digital learning services remove geographic and economic barriers. • Informed citizens pursue life-long learning and are engaged in our state’s future via ETV’s efforts to advance public involvement and democracy where ETV as the portal for statewide community engagement reaches over a million citizens each week. • There is a shared understanding of our state’s diverse history, politics, and culture developed through ETV’s South Carolina- specific programming and coverage of critical issues. • Citizens and families lead healthier, wealthier, more fulfilling lives because of what they learn from ETV’s programs and services and national public broadcasting programs. • ETV is a worthy ambassador for S.C., utilizing public media to position S.C. nationally as a state known for its innovation, creativity and the opportunity it offers to entrepreneurial companies and talented people. • ETV is widely recognized for its efficiency, effectiveness and impact, and its ability to capitalize upon its unique statewide communications infrastructure.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
South Carolina ETV is working toward the goal of 100% literacy for South Carolinians with an emphasis on early learning and building reading skills at home, at school, in child care centers, and in the community.
